Skin Illuminating products

Elizabeth Arden – Let There Be Light
Vs
Mac Strobe Cream Hydrant Lumineux
The following is ONLY my opinion on them both, likes and dislikes etc…

Elizabeth Arden
Let There Be Light Radiant Skin Lotion 50ml

A light consistency lotion, that comes in a silver pump bottle, slightly pinkish pearl-like in color. I used it after applying my regular face lotion in the morning. Right away I noticed my skin had a nice healthy glow. It reflects light, making your skin look young and lovely, but it's also very subtle unlike other similar products that look like glitter.

"A high-tech moisturiser, containing active Grape Seed Extract well known for its healing properties and great at reducing inflammation or sensitivity on the skin. An SPF15 helps protect skin from sun damage, together with Algae, Liquorice, invigorating Rosemary and Soybean extracts help to refine your skins texture making it look smooth and protecting against the suns rays." Basically you can see what it does for your skin, without being able to actually see it on your face. Overall it makes your skin ‘glow’ and look healthier.
I liked the fact that it come in a pump bottle.  You also only need a small amount.  I didn’t like the smell of it and feel that it was a little of putting.  Overall a good product which I think is a good base for makeup and for a making your skin look brighter.

Prices for this product range from £15.00 to £35.00 depending on where it is purchased.  I have a feeling this is being discontinued but you may still be able to pick one up either of ebay or T K MAXX.

MAC Strobe Cream
Hydratant Lumineux 50m

This product is a cream and not a lotion.  It comes in a tube with quite a sleek exterior. This can be applied straight to the face and no extra moisturising is really needed. Not a heavy cream but a light one that once applied to the skin, sinks right in leaving the face beautifully smooth with a healthy glow.

"This amazing cream de stresses, moistens, freshens and boosts the look of full flat or tired looking skin with a fully loaded vitamin zap and a mega dose of green tea.  It brightens and clarifies and enhances the effects of light on all skin and in all lighting conditions from sunlight to spotlight. Contains antioxidants and has iridescent particles that laminate the skin. The ultimate quick fix for your skin."

This product also has a light fragrance but a pleasant one.  Only a small amount is required and is a great base under foundation or if you do not feel the need to use foundation, it can be worn alone.
The is available in two different sizes.  The 30ml which retails at £12.00 and 50ml which is £21.50.

Okoverall view…. I definitely prefer the Mac Strobe Cream to the Elizabeth Arden – Let there be light.  The fragrance was better, the packaging was better, the product itself being a cream rather than a lotion was richer in consistency and felt better on the skin.  Price wise it was better value for money too.  A truly great product that I would definitely keep in my kit, recommend to others and be re-purchasing as a must have beauty product.
