Hey there.
ReplyDeleteI have two questions - not sure if you want to answer them (if you don't then I understand)
1) What religion do you follow? It's just out of curiosity really.
2) You mentioned a few times how you were judged in regards to your previous marriage (or just in general)? Not sure if you clarified on that. I guess i just wanted to know in what sense?
If those questions are too personal then feel free to decline :)
Hi Jasmine, In answer to your Q1. I don't follow any religion. I believe in GOD and I don't believe that I have to follow a certain religion to do that. I follow a spirital path one of the saints which is briefly as follows...
ReplyDeleteRadhasoami (Radha Swami) is a philosophical organization originating in 19th century India, and considered by adherents as a true way to attain God realization. The Radhasoami faith is also referred to as Sant Mat, the "Path of the Saints." The word 'Radhasoami' itself is actually a combination of two words: 'Radha' (referring to the soul or spiritual essence, either of an individual or of the whole) and 'Soami' (referring to the spiritual master; cognate to the Sanskrit term swami or svami); the combined word thus refers to the "Lord of the Soul" or God. It also can be interpreted to mean the "Master Soul" or "Spirit Master" who guides the disciple to higher states of consciousness. Like its sister Sant Mat sects, Radhasoami emphasizes the use of listening to inner sound accessed by (mantra/simran), combined with personal loyalty to a given living Master, for devotees to attain desired states of spiritual advancement.
Q2. I was born in a hindu family and married a muslim man which was not the done thing 20 years ago. I was judged by people from my community for doing such a shameful thing but also from the muslim community for being an outsider so to speak.
Thing is crap happens to the best of us and we should all live and let live right??? wrong!!! sometimes the more we try to put the past behind us and move forward the more people around us try to hold us back by constant reminders. I try never to judge others and I only ask the same in return.
Hey
ReplyDeleteThanks for being so open about things & of course answering my questions.
I guess you named Radha after Radhasoami? It's definitely not a name you hear anymore since it's quite traditional :) I do agree that you don't need to follow any religion to believe in God. Yes I did more or less assume that you may have got some grief about marrying someone from another religion. I do admire you though - you seem like you've lived life on your own terms - who cares what anyone else thinks. It's nice to meet someone who lived life "outside of the box" so to speak :) At the end of the day we'll all human and life is short.
